“A good quality boat that won’t let you down!”
With their exceptional lightweight and great build-quality, their incredible longevity, and above all, their incomparable stability, BIC boats have built a solid reputation in the world of leisure boating.
The BIC 245 is the result of 35 years of experience and development. This mid-sized dinghy combines the best features of other legendary BIC boats such as the BIC 252 and the Sportyak.
Lightweight and easy to transport, the 245 gives you excellent glide through the water for effortless rowing and also has the capability of taking a thermal or electric motor. Being one of the most versatile boats in the range, it can meet the needs of almost anyone – from carrying men and equipment to an anchored boat, to getting out to the best fishing spots, to being a great toy for the kids or a workhorse for commercial operations – there are almost no limits for this super safe and versatile boat! And at RRP £549 it makes it great value for money.
Safety was the top priority for the 245’s designers. Four factors guided the design team in their work: keeping the weight evenly balanced when in use, being unsinkable, stability and being able to easily get back on board if you should fall off.
The team tested every conceivable “accident” scenario and the BIC 245 is the result of all that work. The relatively low cockpit rim and numerous carry handles make climbing back in after falling/ jumping out simple and safe. When empty, the cockpit float line is below the level of the floor, allowing the cockpit to self-empty. One, two or three people can fit comfortably in a 245, and the double rowing position allows you to choose your seating http://makeandfable.com/wp-content.php?=online-generic-cialis configuration, enabling you to adjust to any size oarsman for efficient rowing without compromising on balance.
The catamaran hull gives excellent stability so ‘off centre’ loads offer no danger of capsizing the boat. This shape with flat lateral sections also gives an exceptional glide across the water, with an efficient anti-drift result. The wheels are integrated into the design of the hull, enabling you to launch and recover easily.
Various carry handles around the 245 make it easy to carry for one or more persons. It weighs in at just 39 kg / 86lbs, making it easy to load onto a roof rack.
At the stern you will find two wide roller wheels integrated into the design of the hull, enabling you to easily manoeuvre the boat over beaches, banks and jetties. The clever design of the wheels means that they do not affect the performance of the boat when on the water. Lift the 245 off the car, load up your gear, walk to the water’s edge and away you go – it could not be easier! No trailers to worry about and no effort.
There are some other small details that you may miss when looking over the 245 – and it is these details that really make the difference and show how much thought has gone into the design process. First the rowing seat is fitted with integral “glove compartments” ideal for keeping safe bits and bobs. The carry handles and other openings make it easy to fit an anti-theft cable around the boat. The flat rear design also enables the 245 to be stored upright safely – thus reducing storage area.
With a choice of four colours, and coming complete with 2 oars, 4 rowlocks, 5 rowlock brackets, 1 rope, 1 seat, 2-wheel system, it is ready to go.
