The classic Ugly Stik boat rods have been remodelled and revamped, resulting in an improved and more modern rod than the old favourites. The famous Howald processed blank construction is still used, but the new blanks are now lighter and thinner in diameter. The uptide version features a soft tip which is designed to lock over in the tide without whilst ensuring the motion of the boat doesn’t trip the grip lead. Excellent bite detection and power where it’s needed complete the package.
As with most of the new Ugly Stiks a unique shaped comfort EVA fore-grip has been provided for increased comfort while fishing. Additional features such as a screw locking reel seat, Fuji guides and a shrink tube lower grip have brought this well established and popular rod into the 21st century. At 9ft 9ins, they are available in 2–5 ounce, or 5–10 versions.
