Dunstanburgh Castle, it's about a mile walk to the castle along Embleton Beach and round the castle.
Cycled up there a few times and camped/fished there and it's superb.

    Dunstan Hill

Aye the Mull of Galloway is the place to go if you want to catch fish on float and spinners/lures. You can "wild camp" there at East Tarbet but there are no facilities - no water/bogs.

A better bet is to camp at the Clashwhannon caravan park in Drummore.

Not sure what Martin charges a night £5/6 but at least you have bogs and a shower and water there and a good pub on site.

We have a static caravan there and stay there for most of the summer so if you want any more info just shout up.

West coast of scotland, firth of clyde. Little bays south of portavadie, low stillaig. Wild camping. Just get a wash in the sea. Catch it on a hot summer day and its like the carribean, blue crystal clear water and golden beaches

Sound of bute and isle of Arron oppisite, Great place to be.

If you go over to the Mull of Galloway (3.5 hour drive from Whitley bay) be prepared for the unexpected. Check out me with a tope on which took my mackerel spinner !!!!! It bust me off after 1.5 hours. A passing angler kindly took this photo for me

If you fancy a drive, the Isle of Skye is awesome!! I went up there with a mate for a week when I was back in the summer! Bags of fish and Minke Whales!
